The Parish Council will soon install a new Defibrillator on the Green, next to the childrens' playground. It will be housed in a secure weatherproof cabinet, unlocked to facilitate rapid access in case of emergency.
The equipment is easy to use and requires no training or instruction (other than switching it on !). It's designed for treating a suspected cardiac arrest (collapse, no breathing, no pulse etc). Survival from such an event is considerably increased if CPR is administered as quickly as possible after collapse.
Although we'll be providing some training on CPR , please read up on how to do this and you might just save someone's life !
We're trying to arrange a demonstration of the use of the Defibrillator and CPR during Kelfest.
Although it will be monitored by our CCTV system, please help us keep this equipment safe by discouraging or reporting any non emergency interference with it.
