New defibrillator on the Green

Back home  /  News  /  New defibrillator on the Green

Kelsall Parish Council has now installed a defibrillator on Kelsall Green, on the side of the small brick hut near the playground.

This is available for anybody to use in case of emergencies. The cabinet locks, but the code is written on the box, to avoid wasting precious time. Please respect this life-saving equipment, and report any issues to the Parish Council.

The equipment is easy to use and requires no training or instruction, other than switching it on: this will activate spoken instructions.

It's designed for treating a suspected cardiac arrest (collapse, no breathing, no pulse etc). Survival from such an event is considerably increased if CPR is administered as quickly as possible after collapse.

We had planned to hold demonstrations during Kelfest, unfortunately the event was cancelled, We will try to organise some training, covering collapse diagnosis, CPR and use of the DF' (with mannequins) , but in the meantime, please read up on how to do this and you might just save someone's life !

The information leaflet below contains basic instructions.
